And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
Luke 10:27 (ESV)
Today I am working on my legacy.
The thoughts I have today become words
My words will become actions
My actions will become routine
My routine will become a lifestyle
And my lifestyle will become a legacy.
How we manage ourselves today will impact the future for countless generations. Have you ever asked someone of an older generation what it was like to:
Be in the Great Depression?
Their Experience in World War 2?
Their reaction to the day JFK died?
Where they were on 911?
Key events shape a generation. Not only because of what happened but more importantly, how they responded to what was given to them and how they stepped up and overcame the difficulties and somehow became stronger in the process.
We don’t know how all this Covid-19 stuff will play out but one day, when we are on the other side of this, how will you respond to the question “What did you and your family do while you were in isolation?”
On that day, it is my hope that our response will be like Joshua “As for me and my house, I will serve the Lord” – Joshua 24:15
